So, I know the Fourth of July has passed, but being a glass half full kind of gal, this post isn't late it's super early for next year!
I had this fabric in my sewing pile and thought it would look cute together, without being too over the top for the Fourth. The only thing I bought was the navy zipper at my local crafts store with a coupon (less than two bucks, score!) I am pretty sure the fabric came from the same crafts store last year (probably with a coupon, too.) I really love being able to use things I already have for new projects. This pouch makes a perfect addition to my purse, small and tidy, but holds all the things a mom of boys needs.
There are tons of zippered pouch tutorials all over blog land, so I won't add to that. Though a couple of tutorials I looked at and incorporated into my design are here and here. My rotary cutter, which initially Mr. Sweet (my husband) said was a frivolous expense, came in handy cutting the bunting. The whole project took less than 30 minutes from cutting to sewing to filling up, once I figured out how 'tall' I wanted the pouch (the zipper length dictates the width.)
I hope you all had a great Fourth and keep a little bit of that love for the USA all year long, with a zippered pouch like this one! Take care!
