Easy Valentine Gifts for Special People

I saw these and instantly knew they needed to be made for my son's teachers, though they can be tailored for any special folks in your life: mail person, co-worker, aunt, uncle, grandma, you name it.  Now, this is super easy and took me no time at all.  If you would like to create these cuties for your special Valentine, then read on...

Very roomy for goodies.  Both sides open.

 This is the main reason why I love my Tarjay, you know, the dollar section, because on occasion, one can find the perfect item and instantly have a really awesome and cheap without looking cheap gift.  Not that this needs a tute, I will include one anyway, so have fun making these babies up, after you run to your Tarjay...


Materials:

Cutie Pie Mail boxes from the Dollar Section
Printer/Pencil or your vinyl cutter
Paint Pen
Filler - candy, stampers (also from the dollar section), gift card, whatever you want

Instructions:

1. If you have a fancy vinyl cutter, you know what to do and skip to step 6.  If not, use a cute font and print your Teacher's name out.
2. Scratch your pencil all over the back of the Teacher's name.
3. Center the Teacher's name right side up and trace along the font.
4. Use your paint pen to fill in the outline of the Teacher's name
5. Color in a heart on the mail flag
6. Fill to your heart's desire.

These are so cute!  Now to make three more for the rest of the teachers!

I really want to go back and get one several to make for a Family or individual family members mailbox!!  Wouldn't that be fun to have one that everyone in the family can write sweet letters for mom, dad, brothers to read as Valentine's Day approaches?  It's probably just the sugar high I am getting from the Valentine's Day chocolate (I have to quality check that it's good, right?) but maybe everyone would be a little sweeter to each other, if they thought they might get nice notes each day, with the flag up, of course!  Who would you make these for?

Easy Teacher Gifts on a Budget

I love getting gifts for my boy's teachers.  I have five teachers, so far, and don't want to spend an arm and a leg to let them know how much I appreciate them and value the time and effort they put into my sons.  But I think, even on a budget, I got them nice gifts (and from the feedback I received, the gifts were very well received!)  Here is the Christmas Bucket of Fun:

Each bucket contains the following: three plastic bags as padding for the goodies (see pic), one piece of tissue paper folded, one cupcake mix, one icing, either sprinkles or the spatulas and squeeze bottle from the baking set (I could only find four of the sets,) one personalized zippered pouch, and a personalized card and gift card for lunch.

Extra baking supplies that didn't fit in the bucket nor did it look pretty!

OK. I usually hate talking money, especially if I get gifts for crazy, good deals.  But here goes...  I paid very little for these Christmas teacher gifts, with a little planning.  At an after Christmas sale, I bought these buckets for ten cents each!  The tissue paper (one per bucket) was less than ten cents a sheet.  I bought the cupcake supplies (mix, icing (both on sale with coupons) and 11 piece baking set on clearance), made a zipper pouch and got them a gift card to our favorite fast food restaurant that is near the school.

Now, you don't have to do the gift card, but I know several of the teachers like this Chick restaurant (as do we) and I was very careful with our grocery budget over the last several weeks, so it was a splurge I am willing to make. I was able to see four of the teachers and they said the following: I am going to make these cupcakes with my granddaughter, I love to bake - you are so creative, I love the pouch with my name and that I love school ribbon is darling!  All gave hugs and had big smiles.

That's really what it's all about!  Though I was crazed trying to get everything done, I am so glad I was able to get it all together for them!  What do you like to give your hardworking teachers in your kiddo's lives?
